The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has launched a 50 per cent discount on selected dental services on Monday in Benin City.
Chief Medical Director Idia Ize-Iyamu said the initiative aims “to improve dental health awareness among residents” and make dental care more accessible.
Patients can benefit from reduced charges on procedures including scaling and polishing, tooth extractions, glass ionomer cement restorations, and dental radiographs.
The offer runs from Monday to Thursday ahead of the global World Oral Health Day on March 20.
Ize-Iyamu explained, “This initiative promotes oral health awareness and improves access to essential dental care, enabling more patients to receive timely treatment and maintain healthier oral hygiene habits.”
She praised the Nigerian Dental Association for mobilising residents during an awareness walk, calling the turnout “encouraging and a strong demonstration of commitment by dental professionals.”
The 2026 celebration carries the theme, “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life,” linking oral hygiene to overall wellbeing and encouraging routine dental care.
