The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has shut several shops and business premises at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos over suspected dealings in unregistered cosmetic products.
The agency said its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, Cosmetics Division, carried out a two-day enforcement operation at the complex on August 26 and 27, 2026.
During the operation, NAFDAC officials identified suspected unregistered cosmetic products at several shops. The affected premises were subsequently locked and placed under NAFDAC HOLD labels pending further regulatory action.
Among the businesses affected were Vincentmo World, opposite Bmeck Plaza; Amazon City of Fragrance at Beauty Promise Land Plaza; Aza-King Store Perfumes, opposite Fidelity Bank; PP2 & Fragrance Int’l Ltd.; Fragrance Doctor Shop at Abia Plaza; and God & Obaino Fragrance Store, among other premises within the complex.
NAFDAC also collected samples of the suspected products for further investigation and issued invitation letters to the owners and operators of the affected businesses for questioning and necessary regulatory proceedings.
The latest enforcement is part of NAFDAC’s ongoing crackdown on unregistered and potentially unsafe consumer products in Lagos.
In February, the agency reported uncovering counterfeit and unregistered cosmetics worth more than N3 billion at the Trade Fair Complex. It also seized more than 10 million doses of suspected fake malaria drugs and cosmetic products valued at about N3 billion during another operation at the Trade Fair Market.
NAFDAC has continued to intensify enforcement against products that fail to meet Nigeria’s registration, safety and regulatory requirements.
