The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked a viral notice claiming that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed, describing it as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the board clarified that the purported press release did not originate from JAMB and urged candidates to disregard it.

“All arrangements for the 2026 UTME remain on course as scheduled,” the board stated.

JAMB reaffirmed that the examination will hold from April 16 to April 25, 2026, as previously announced.

The clarification follows the conduct of the 2026 mock UTME on March 28, which experienced technical issues in some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. Out of over 224,000 registered candidates, about 152,000 successfully participated across 989 centres.

The board added that more than 20 CBT centres affected by technical challenges have since been delisted due to inadequate infrastructure.

JAMB advised candidates and the public to rely only on official communication channels to avoid falling for misinformation.
