The Lagos State Government has alerted motorists to partial road closures across key parts of Lagos ahead of major infrastructure commissioning events scheduled for April 8 and April 9.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the temporary traffic adjustments are necessary to ensure safety and smooth coordination of the events.
On Wednesday, April 8, traffic will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. during the inauguration of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge. Motorists around Opebi, Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota are advised to expect disruptions.
On Thursday, April 9, multiple events will also impact movement. The commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex in the Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle areas will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., affecting traffic in those corridors.
Later that day, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., another event will be held at Eko Hotel & Suites, which is expected to cause congestion around Victoria Island.
Motorists are strongly advised to plan ahead, use alternative routes, and anticipate delays during the affected periods.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and other traffic enforcement agencies will be deployed to manage vehicular movement and assist road users.
Residents are urged to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere to all directives to ensure smooth flow and public safety during the events.
