The Police command in Lagos has detained several officers accused of misconduct following a viral video showing operatives allegedly harassing youths in the Ojuelegba area.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the officers have been identified and brought before the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, for questioning. Their statements have been taken, and they are currently in detention pending the outcome of further investigations.

According to the police, the complainant in the incident has been contacted and is expected to provide a formal statement to aid the ongoing probe.

Authorities assured the public that the investigation will be thorough and transparent, adding that any officer found guilty will face appropriate disciplinary action.

The incident came to light after a video surfaced online showing members of the Anti-Cultism Squad allegedly harassing youths and confiscating mobile phones around the Ojuelegba Under Bridge, sparking public concern over police conduct.

The command reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct and urged residents to remain calm while cooperating with efforts to ensure accountability.
