The Bauchi chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Bala Mohammed, has confirmed the end of talks between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a proposed political arrangement.
The Bauchi PDP leadership says it stopped the discussions after both parties failed to agree on conditions tied to a possible defection and political realignment.
Sama’ila Adamu-Burga, who chairs the PDP in the state, discloses this on Saturday in Bauchi after internal consultations with key stakeholders.
He states that APC leaders initiated contact following visits by APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, who encouraged Governor Mohammed to consider joining the ruling party.
The PDP presents demands during the engagement, including a leadership sharing structure and reimbursement for funds used on federal projects executed under the PDP-led administration in Bauchi State.
Adamu-Burga reports that the APC declines the proposals, which prevents the negotiations from advancing.
He confirms that the party reviews the outcome and concludes the process after both sides fail to reach agreement.
He also affirms that the PDP remains united and continues to evaluate other political pathways while sustaining its governance agenda in Bauchi State.
