Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally declared his support for President Bola Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition, the political movement led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Riven Medical Facility, a public-private pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Rivers State, Fubara said the political crisis in the state was over and urged his supporters to rally behind all candidates presented by the coalition.
He said President Tinubu remained his preferred presidential candidate and stressed that he would also support the coalition’s governorship candidate, urging those loyal to him to do the same.
“The time of war is over. It is now time for peace, and that peace will take us to another level,” the governor said, adding that he had fully returned to the political family and would not participate in anything capable of causing division in the state.
Fubara also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Riven Medical Facility project, describing it as a strategic investment that would drive industrialisation, create jobs and position Rivers State as a major hub for the production of medical consumables.
He disclosed that the first phase of the pharmaceutical factory is expected to be completed within three months and pledged the state’s full support for the investors while calling on the host community to cooperate to ensure the project’s success.
The governor further revealed that the state government is currently defending litigation involving claims exceeding ₦200 billion from several companies, noting that his administration is determined to avoid contractual disputes that could discourage investors.
