The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has claimed that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Onadeko made the allegation in an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, on Saturday.

He said he learnt of Osoba’s death from an unidentified caller who contacted him around midnight.

“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” he said.

The prophet, who is the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in the Bogije area of Ibeju-Lekki, said he did not know the particular police station where the actress allegedly died but reported himself at a nearby station.

He explained that Osoba had gone to visit a woman identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death and had remained in communication with him.

Onadeko also dismissed reports that the actress died from complications arising from her previous battle with breast cancer.

According to him, although Osoba had undergone cancer treatment and surgery, the illness was not responsible for her death.

He equally denied allegations that he had access to money donated for her surgery or used the funds to build his church. He said the donations, including a reported contribution from businessman Mike Adenuga, were paid directly into Osoba’s account.

The prophet also rejected claims that Osoba was prevented from driving her car, saying she drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death.

Onadeko further denied allegations that the actress was maltreated before her death, including claims that she was punished or subjected to degrading treatment.

He said Osoba had also struggled with smoking but that he had encouraged her to quit.

The prophet said Osoba left the church about three weeks before her death and that he contacted one of her uncles, identified as Taiwo, after learning of her death.

Osoba, who was 40, died on Wednesday. She is scheduled to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

However, the claims made by Onadeko have not been independently verified, and the exact circumstances and cause of Osoba’s death remain unclear.
