Police operatives in Lagos State have arrested a suspected member of the gang that robbed clubgoers at Ghost and Spirits Lounge on Ekoro Road, Abule Egba.
The suspect, identified in a viral video by his green shirt and cap, was arrested following intensified investigations after the lounge management reportedly placed a ₦5 million bounty on the robbers.
The police said the suspect is currently in custody and assisting investigators, while efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the gang.
The robbery reportedly occurred around 4am last Saturday. Video footage showed several customers chatting around their vehicles when the suspects arrived in a vehicle.
One of the robbers allegedly fired a shot before the gang moved towards the victims. The suspect in the green shirt was seen approaching one of the victims and attempting to remove his wristwatch, while other customers fled.
After taking valuables from the victims, the gang reportedly returned to their vehicle and fled the scene.
A police source confirmed the arrest, saying it followed credible intelligence and sustained tracking of the suspects.
The source said, “We have one suspect in custody, and he is assisting us with useful information. We are trailing the others. The command will not rest until all the perpetrators are brought to book.”
The Lagos State Police Command assured residents that efforts were ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the gang and bring them to justice.
