Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has rallied his political associates to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the emergence of Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Lagos State governor in 2027.

The move followed a strategic meeting Ambode held with his political associates on Wednesday, November 4, where he reaffirmed his commitment to party unity, stronger political alliances and electoral victories for the All Progressives Congress.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Ambode Support Associates, the group’s representative, Adeshina Tiamiyu, disclosed that arrangements were underway to host Hamzat and other APC candidates in Epe next week.

According to him, the proposed gathering would bring together party members, political leaders, community stakeholders and supporters from across Lagos State to demonstrate the party’s unity and readiness for the 2027 elections.

He added that the engagement would strengthen existing political relationships, deepen collaboration and consolidate support for the APC candidates.

The mobilisation is expected to extend to Community Development Associations, market women, artisans, persons living with disabilities and other grassroots groups to galvanise support for Tinubu and Hamzat.

The group said its initiative was anchored on the philosophy of “One Nation, One Community, One Family”, emphasising inclusiveness as a key component of its political mobilisation strategy.

Ambode governed Lagos State between 2015 and 2019. He secured the APC governorship ticket in 2014 and won the 2015 election but lost the party’s 2018 governorship primary to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who succeeded him in 2019.
