The Lagos State police command has restricted vehicular movement in Surulere federal constituency 1.

The restriction is due to the bye-election slated for the constituency to elect a replacement for the Chief of State to the president and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Gbajabiamila resigned from the House of Representatives following his appointment by the president.

In a statement on Friday, spokesperson for the Police in Lagos, Ben Hundeyin said, “This is to announce to the general public that during the bye-election scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024, there will be restriction of movement in the election area, Surulere Federal Constituency I only.”

“However, Funsho Williams Avenue will be free for passage only. Movement into and out of feeder roads off Funsho Williams Avenue will not be permitted.

“For other parts of Lagos State, there is absolutely no restriction of movement.”
