The Lagos State Police Command has made significant breakthroughs in various crime cases, including the discovery of a baby factory in the Ijegun area.
On April 5, at about 2 p.m., the police received credible information about the factory’s location in Afurugbin, leading to an immediate response.
Baby Factory Discovery
– Rescue Operation: Six adults and three children were rescued from the factory, while three suspects, including the operator, Mariam Vincent, 35, and her accomplices, Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18, were arrested.
– Suspect Confessions: During interrogation, the suspects admitted to abducting victims from different areas of the state for the purpose of running the baby factory. Investigations are ongoing.
Murder Incidents
– Badagry Shooting: A resident, Charles Atideka, opened fire on three elderly persons in Yovoyan Community, Gberefu Beach, Badagry, killing them. The suspect is currently at large, while an accomplice, Bright Sonu, 33, was arrested.
– Okokomaiko Murder: A 27-year-old woman, Shakirat Ojo, was allegedly beaten to death by her father, Kamoru Ojo, and buried in a shallow grave within their compound. The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody.
Child Stealing Case
– Rescue and Arrests: A 3-year-old girl, Wuraola, was stolen on her way to school, prompting a swift response from the police. Two suspects, ThankGod Francis, 33, and Grace Francis, 21, were arrested, and the victim was rescued.
– Court Proceedings: The suspects were arraigned in Ebute Meta Magistrate Court 3 and granted bail, but could not meet the conditions and were remanded in correctional facilities custody.
