Popular comedian Ali Baba has come forward with claims that former President Olusegun Obasanjo shared political strategies with him on how to become Nigeria’s president.

According to Ali Baba, Obasanjo emphasized the importance of gaining support from seven key governors, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, to clinch the presidential seat.

The Strategies
– Gaining Support from Key Governors: Obasanjo allegedly mentioned that Ali Baba would need the support of governors from Lagos, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Kano, Kaduna, and the CBN governor.
– Securing Senatorial Districts: Ali Baba claims Obasanjo said he would need to secure 44 of the most popular senatorial districts.
– Awarding Contracts: Obasanjo allegedly advised awarding 10 contracts in the first year of assumption of office, with 15% of that contract having a marginal impact at the polls.

Strategic Appointments
Ali Baba also claims Obasanjo emphasized the importance of making strategic appointments, including ¹:
– Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN)
– Controller-General of Customs
– Head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC)
– Inspector-General of Police (IGP)
– CBN Governor

Steering Clear of Corrupt Governors
Obasanjo allegedly advised Ali Baba to steer clear of corrupt governors who are “loaded” and can be “financially useful when needed”.

These governors, Obasanjo claimed, have war chests that they can use to align with whoever they choose.

Securing Support from Key Figures

Ali Baba claims Obasanjo highlighted the importance of securing support from key figures, including:
– Foreign Countries: Getting support from countries like the US or China due to their business interests in Nigeria.
– The Wealthy: Getting 10 of the richest Nigerians on board.
– Religious Leaders and Bloggers: Securing support from influential religious leaders and bloggers.
