Liverpool have secured their 20th English league title and their second Premier League crown after a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
The Reds wrapped up the title with four games still remaining in the season. Despite falling behind early to a goal from former Liverpool player Dominic Solanke, Luis Díaz quickly leveled the score just four minutes later.
Superb strikes from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo gave Liverpool a commanding 3-1 lead at halftime. Mohamed Salah, determined to leave his mark, added a fourth with a clinical finish in the 63rd minute before Destiny Udogie’s own goal completed the rout.
At the final whistle, Liverpool players donned specially made T-shirts emblazoned with “Champions 2024-25” in gold lettering, celebrating in front of an ecstatic Anfield crowd.
The triumph also marks a historic moment for manager Arne Slot, who becomes the first Dutch coach to win the English top-flight title. Managers from eight different nations have now won the English league since the last Englishman, Howard Wilkinson, led Leeds United to glory in 1991-92.
