The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has confirmed that a multiple-vehicle crash along the Tradefair–Agbara route on the Lagos-Badagry expressway claimed one life and left two others injured in the early hours of Monday.
In a statement issued in Lagos, the Sector Commander, Mr. Kehinde Hamzat, stated that the accident occurred at approximately 5:36 a.m. near the Iyana Era Bus Stop.
According to Hamzat, the crash involved a commercial blue Mack truck with registration number AKD 579 XM and a private silver Lexus saloon car with registration number LSR 545 JN.
“A total of five adult males were involved in the incident,” the statement read. “Preliminary investigations suggest that the crash resulted from speed violation and loss of control, despite the good condition of the road.”
Hamzat said the impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of one male adult, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The FRSC’s emergency response team reportedly arrived at the scene within four minutes of receiving the distress call and promptly began rescue operations. The injured victims were transported to Alimosho General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Hamzat extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He also reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to road safety and urged motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits and maintain control of their vehicles at all times.
