The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, in Ogere, Ogun State.

Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd., was found dead in his office on January 12, 2025, with multiple stab wounds to his chest. His death sparked a high-priority investigation led by the Ogun State Police Command, supported by the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) under the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, investigations revealed that the crime was orchestrated by two factory workers who were allegedly in a romantic relationship. The suspects reportedly exploited the reduced staffing on the day of the incident to disable the company’s security system, gain unauthorized access to Wang’s office, and carry out the fatal attack.

In a further twist, the suspects were said to have stolen the keys to the victim’s residence, which they later burgled before fleeing the state with stolen cash.

After months of intensive surveillance and collaboration between detectives from the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and operatives at the Force Headquarters, the suspects were tracked down and arrested on July 14 in Jos, Plateau State. They were reportedly living under false identities at the time of their arrest.

The suspects have been identified as 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi from Borno State and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami from Taraba State.

The successful operation, the police said, was made possible through the strategic deployment of digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence.

Commending the officers involved, IGP Egbetokun praised the synergy between intelligence and field operations, describing it as a testament to the Force’s commitment to justice and the protection of all residents and foreign nationals in Nigeria.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be formally charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
