President Bola Tinubu has shared a candid and emotional account of how he experienced the Super Falcons’ dramatic comeback victory, shedding light on the rollercoaster of emotions he faced while watching the match.

Speaking with humor and sincerity, the President admitted he had initially decided not to watch the game for fear of high blood pressure.

“I didn’t want to watch the match initially because I didn’t want HBP,” he confessed. “But when some people came in and turned on my TV, I started watching.”

The tension mounted quickly when the Falcons fell behind 2-0, triggering frustration in the President. “When it got 2-0 against us, I was offended,” he said. But hope was rekindled when Nigeria pulled one goal back. “Then we scored 1, I became assured.”

Then came the turning point: two more goals from the Falcons had the nation in a frenzy.

“My wife was cooking my food in the kitchen, rushed out to tell me we have won,” Tinubu recalled with a smile. “I said the game is still on!”

The moment of triumph was sealed with the final whistle.

“When the final whistle was blown, it was a relief moment for me and all Nigerians,” he said, expressing the collective joy and pride of the nation.

President Tinubu’s reflection adds a personal touch to what has become a historic sporting moment, as the Super Falcons continue to unite Nigerians through their grit, talent, and never-say-die spirit.
