Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Bayelsa State, Mr. Simeon Imomitimi, says Governor Douye Diri remains the best leader the state has produced since its creation.
He states that Diri’s administration is redefining development through impactful infrastructure, expanded healthcare services, improved power supply, and enhanced security aimed at transforming the lives of residents.
Imomitimi makes this position known in Yenagoa during a press conference organised as part of activities to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary and Bayelsa’s 29th year of existence.
He explains that the council’s assessment shows Diri’s leadership stands far above any previous administration in terms of visible achievements and long-term impact on the state’s growth.
“Gov. Diri has performed overwhelmingly well by delivering the dividends of democracy beyond the expectations of the people,” he says, adding that the government’s policies directly improve living standards and open new opportunities.
He highlights key road projects such as the Nembe–Brass Road, Ekeremor–Aggie Road, and Oporoma/Angiama–Ukubie Road as critical infrastructure linking communities and boosting economic activities.
Imomitimi also notes the installation of a 60-megawatt gas turbine designed to ensure a stable electricity supply across Yenagoa and its surrounding areas as part of the governor’s strategic vision.
He adds that the administration continues to strengthen the healthcare system by building primary health centres in all wards and referral hospitals in every local government area.
According to him, Diri’s security framework has significantly reduced criminal activities and created a safer environment, allowing residents to live and work without fear.
“The governor has also prioritised the safety of lives and property, ensuring that people now sleep with their two eyes closed,” he says.
Imomitimi stresses that IPAC views these achievements as unprecedented and pledges the council’s continued collaboration with the government to sustain the pace of progress.
He concludes that based on the depth, scale, and consistency of his developmental policies, Diri stands out as the most accomplished governor Bayelsa has seen in its 29-year history.
