ART X Lagos, West Africa’s premier international art fair, is set to return for its landmark 10th edition — tagged “10X” — from November 6 to 9, 2025, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.

Since its debut in 2016, the fair has grown into a vibrant platform for African and global art dialogue, attracting participants from over 170 countries while positioning Lagos as a dynamic cultural hub.

To commemorate a decade of impact, ART X Lagos has released its first-ever Impact Report, documenting its contributions to Africa’s creative economy and cultural exchange.

The 2025 edition, themed “Imagining Otherwise, No Matter the Tide,” will explore how imagination can shape urban futures and collective progress. Founder and Chairman Tokini Peterside-Schwebig described the milestone as a reflection of both ART X’s vision and Nigeria’s evolving art landscape.

“Our tenth edition marks an important milestone and offers a moment to reflect on how Nigeria’s art scene has evolved since we began,” she said. “Our vision to champion how African creativity is seen, celebrated, and valued has grown into a movement connecting artists, communities, and audiences across borders.”

This year’s edition expands across four new locations — the Balmoral Marquee, Ballroom Marquee, Lobby, and Waterfront Garden — with 15 participating galleries, including Affinity Art Gallery, Galerie MAM, Nike Art Gallery, Tiwani Contemporary, and Gallery 1957.

Three new Spotlight GalleriesADEGBOLA, AMG Projects, and Nomadic Art Gallery — will showcase emerging artists through solo exhibitions.

Highlights include:

  • ART X ICON exhibition, An Exacting Eye, featuring six decades of photography by the late J.D. ’Okhai Ojeikere, sponsored by Zenith Bank.
  • The Masterclass, led by Amaize Ojeikere, mentoring 10 young photographers, with grants and exhibitions for top participants.
  • Portraits of Modernity, a live studio experience by Rachel Seidu, celebrating Nigeria’s sculptural hairstyles and heritage.

The ART X Talks series will feature leading African creatives including Akinbode Akinbiyi, Amaize Ojeikere, Mati Diop, Bruce Onobrakpeya, Jimoh Buraimoh, Muraina Oyelami, and Nike Davies-Okundaye.

The Art Across Borders series, sponsored by Afreximbank, returns with six international artists exploring decoloniality and belonging.

As part of its education and exchange initiatives, ART X Lagos also introduced Resonance, a Paris-based residency in partnership with the Embassy of France and Cité Internationale des Arts, with inaugural fellows Mobolaji Ogunrosoye, Olorunfemi Adewuyi, and Tony Agbapuonwu.

The fair will also host Kids at ART X Lagos, featuring storytelling, art workshops, and exhibitions — including Tales by Moonlight with Oluwalanu Agusto and Bruce Onobrakpeya — nurturing the next generation of African creatives.
