The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing a testimony of what he described as a miraculous healing during a trip abroad.
Speaking during a recent church programme, Adeboye recounted how he was taking an early morning walk in an unnamed foreign city when a young woman recognised him and addressed him as “Daddy G.O.” According to him, the woman insisted on following him back to his hotel despite his initial attempts to send her away after offering prayers.
The cleric said the woman followed him into the hotel and eventually into his room, an encounter he described as troubling, given the possibility of being misunderstood if seen with a young lady. He said he cried out to God for help during the incident.
Adeboye narrated that the woman later lifted her dress to reveal scars all over her body, which he said appeared as though she had been severely tortured. Moved by what he saw, the pastor said he prayed for her without concern for who might walk in on them.
He claimed that by the time the woman was leaving the room, the scars had completely disappeared.
The testimony, which has since circulated widely on social media, has generated mixed reactions, with some expressing awe and faith in divine healing, while others questioned the account and debated its implications.
Pastor Adeboye did not disclose further details about the woman or the country where the incident allegedly took place.
