Airtel Nigeria has temporarily suspended its airtime and data credit services, which previously allowed prepaid customers to borrow and repay on their next recharge.

The company clarified that customers can still purchase airtime and data without disruption through existing channels, adding that the suspension will not affect overall service quality nationwide.

According to Airtel Nigeria’s Director of Marketing, Ismail Adeshina, the move is part of efforts to align with evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining compliance, transparency, and consumer protection.

Airtel also noted that it will provide updates on when the services will be restored.
