The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, has formally rejected a lineage claim submitted by legendary musician, Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Olasunkanmi Adesanya publicly known as KWAM1 or K1, declaring the completed membership and linkage form he submitted as “null, void and of no consequence.”
In a letter dated December 11, 2025 and issued from Ule Nla Agunsenbi, the ruling house acknowledged receipt of KWAM1’s completed form dated December 10. However, the family raised concerns after discovering that the form had been certified two days earlier—on December 8—by one Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo.
The ruling house described the certification as improper, stating that the form appeared “presigned,” and further clarified that the certifying individual had no authority to act on behalf of the family.
According to the letter, the ruling house found three major irregularities:
- The form was not signed by the authorised family head or representative.
- The individual who certified the form, Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo, is not a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House and therefore lacked the capacity to certify such a document.
- Investigations revealed no evidence linking Adesanya to the Jadiara Royal House or the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.
“Consequently, the completed linkage lineage form is hereby declared null, void and of no consequence,” the statement read, stressing that Adesanya’s claim to membership had been rejected.
The letter was jointly signed by Otunba Lateef Owoyemi (Chairman), Pastor Prince Bola Salami (General Secretary), Otunba Adedokun Ajidagba (Deputy Chairman), Otunba Akinola Odedina (Head of Jadiara Royal House), Chief Prof. Fassy A.O. Yusuf (Vice-Chairman), and Adebisi Quadri (Co-Head, Jadiara Royal House).
KWAM1 had shown interest in the coveted throne of Ijebuland, Awujale, after the remise of the last occupant months ago.
