Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Whitney Nneoma Chukwu, publicly known as Nomy, has been disqualified from the reality show following repeated violations of Big Brother’s instructions.
Her disqualification was announced on Monday night after she refused to wear the prescribed Bench Warmer outfit and sit on the designated bench as directed by Big Brother.
Nomy had been assigned the Bench Warmer role after recording the poorest performance in a Head of House challenge. As part of the punishment, she was required to wear a special vest and remain seated on a designated bench, except during activities for which she was exempted.
However, Nomy repeatedly challenged the directive and refused to comply with the punishment.
The situation reportedly escalated when Ninja attempted to retrieve the Bench Warmer outfit and bench, with Nomy resisting the move.
Her latest act of defiance came after a series of confrontations with Big Brother over his rules and punishments.
At one point, Big Brother imposed additional sanctions on her, including cleaning the toilets without assistance from other housemates. She was also issued a strike and warned that it constituted her final warning.
Big Brother had stressed that his instructions were rules and not suggestions, warning Nomy against further violations.
During a subsequent Diary Session, Nomy complained about what she described as repeated punishments. Big Brother later granted her some concessions, including permission to remove the Bench Warmer outfit and be herself.
Despite the concession, she again found herself in trouble over the Bench Warmer directive.
Her disqualification now brings her controversial stay in the “Show Ya Sef” house to an abrupt end.
Nomy’s repeated clashes with Big Brother had become one of the major storylines of the season, with viewers divided over her defiance and the punishments handed down to her.
Her exit is expected to trigger further reactions from BBNaija fans, particularly over whether her latest violation warranted disqualification.
Nomy first became a Bench Warmer during the second week of the competition after recording the poorest performance in the Head of House challenge.
