The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the immediate resumption of petrol sales in naira, following the intervention of the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude Technical Committee.
In a memo to marketers on Saturday, the refinery said:
“Following the intervention of the Naira-for-Crude Technical Committee Chairman, we are pleased to inform you of the resumption of PMS sales in naira commencing immediately. You may kindly proceed to place your orders in naira for both self-collection and free delivery of PMS to the earlier advised locations across the country. Thank you for your continued patronage.”
The announcement came less than 24 hours after the refinery had directed marketers to prepare for a suspension of petrol sales in naira, effective Sunday, September 28, 2025. At the time, Dangote explained that it had exceeded its naira-crude allocation and would be unable to sustain further sales in the local currency.
The refinery had also offered refunds to customers with pending naira-based transactions, stating it would provide updates once the allocation issue was resolved.
With the government’s intervention, however, the refinery confirmed that sales in naira would continue without disruption.
