Billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke has publicly addressed the long-running paternity dispute involving his son, Afrobeats star Davido, firmly denying claims that the singer fathered a child with an Ibadan-based woman.

The controversy resurfaced after a teenage girl, Anu Adeleke, shared an open letter on Instagram, saying she had suffered bullying due to the unresolved paternity issue and urging Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, to undergo a DNA test. Davido rejected the claim, stating that five DNA tests had already been conducted.

However, Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, disputed this, alleging that Davido lied about the tests and accusing his father of being involved in manipulating the results.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Adedeji Adeleke dismissed the allegations, insisting that Davido is not Anu’s father. He said the matter dates back to 2014, when he received a lawyer’s letter alleging that his son had impregnated a woman in Ibadan, supported by photo collages.

According to Adeleke, he personally arranged the first DNA test and subsequently oversaw four others conducted between 2015 and 2020. He said all five tests were carried out through Nigerian hospitals that sent samples to accredited laboratories in South Africa, and each produced the same outcome.

“All the tests returned a probability of paternity of 0.00 percent,” Adeleke said, adding that the results clearly showed Davido was not the child’s father. He recalled that the outcome left the child’s mother and grandmother visibly distraught at the time.

Adeleke maintained that the family had acted transparently throughout the process and urged the public to rely on verified facts rather than speculation.
