The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has relieved ACP Benjamin Hundeyin of his duties as Force Public Relations Officer, barely six months after his appointment.
The decision, approved on Thursday, March 5, 2026, is part of ongoing restructuring within the police hierarchy.
Sources within the force linked the move to recent leadership changes following the inauguration of Tunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police by Bola Tinubu. Disu’s appointment came after the removal of Kayode Egbetokun, who had served as IGP since 2023.
A senior police source confirmed the development on Thursday morning, stating simply, “The Force Public Relations Officer has been removed.”
As of the time of filing this report, the police authorities have not issued an official statement explaining the decision, and no replacement has been announced.
