Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi, a former aide to Mudashiru Obasa, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Egunjobi, who previously served two terms as Chairman of Agege Local Government, made the announcement via his Facebook page on Friday, April 3, 2026, stating that his decision was driven by widespread consultations and encouragement from constituents.
According to him, the move reflects the growing demand for continuity in experienced leadership and a commitment to delivering effective representation for the people of Agege.
He also invited party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women, and residents to his official declaration ceremony scheduled to take place at the APC Local Government Meeting Point, Car Wash Bus Stop, Capitol Road, Agege.
Egunjobi emphasized the importance of unity and collective progress, describing Agege as a community built on strength, resilience, and shared purpose. He urged supporters to come out en masse and join him in what he described as a journey toward people-centered representation at the national level.
