Residents of the Mosafejo community in Ojo Local Government Area have uncovered a warehouse where expired drugs were allegedly being repackaged for sale.
Suspicious activities around the building prompted concerned residents to alert officers at the Ojo Police Station. Acting on the report, the Divisional Police Officer and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, visited the location to assess the situation and initiate a proper investigation.
The warehouse is reportedly a 15-flat building owned by Eze Nkpado Olu of Imo State, a traditional ruler. Residents said the owner had evicted tenants about 15 years ago, claiming he intended to convert the property into a hotel. Tiles and other building materials were stored on the first floor, while another section was allegedly used for the illegal repackaging of expired drugs.
Only the security guard on duty was arrested at the scene as police continue to trace others connected to the operation.
The Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Muhibat Titilola Rufai, who also visited the site alongside the police, condemned the act, commended residents for their vigilance, and assured the community of government support to ensure justice is served.
The warehouse has been sealed as investigations proceed.
