The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken delivery of two ambulifts for deployment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, to improve accessibility and passenger facilitation for persons with reduced mobility.

The equipment is expected to provide safer and more convenient assistance to passengers who require support when boarding or disembarking aircraft.

The keys to the two ambulifts were formally handed over to NACHO Aviation Services by FAAN’s Director of Airport Operations, Capt. Abdullahi Mahmood, who will oversee their deployment and operation at the airport.

The ambulifts are designed to facilitate the movement of passengers with mobility limitations between the terminal and aircraft, ensuring that they are handled safely and with dignity.

FAAN said the development forms part of its efforts to strengthen passenger facilitation services and improve the overall travel experience at the country’s major international gateway.

The deployment also underscores the authority’s commitment to ensuring that passengers with special mobility needs have access to appropriate support throughout their journey.
