Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, says the Federal Government is ready to partner with Livespot on the forthcoming ‘Detty December Fest’ slated for Lagos.

Livespot, the culture-building creative company behind the festival, disclosed the partnership in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the festival will feature multi-stage concerts, nightlife experiences, fashion and cultural showcases, culinary pop-ups, art installations, and citywide events designed to reflect the full spirit of Nigeria’s globally recognised December season.

The first wave of headliners for the Dec. 6–31 festival includes Gunna, Busta Rhymes, Juma Jux, and Bella Shmurda.

Musawa described ‘Detty December Fest’ as a major contributor to Nigeria’s cultural ecosystem, noting its role in strengthening the nation’s global creative presence and boosting holiday tourism. She added that the partnership signals a shift from “Detty December” being a social media trend to becoming a structured national asset.

“We will showcase Nigerian and African talent on a world-class stage. We will support SMEs and creative businesses—from vendors to production teams, to fashion, food, and hospitality—and work with relevant MDAs to improve safety, mobility, and overall visitor experience,” she said.

The minister commended Livespot for its vision, describing it as a planning hub for the growth of the creative economy.

“Detty December Fest will be one where ideas become real opportunities, real jobs, and real experiences across our cities and within our creative economy. To our private sector, we invite you to plug in and co-invest; to our international friends, Nigeria is ready for collaboration and cultural exchanges,” she added.
