Four ex-BBNaija housemates join Funke Akindele’s ‘The Four’

Award-winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is set to return to cinemas with her latest movie, The Four, scheduled for nationwide release on December 11, 2026.

The movie follows the success of Akindele’s 2023 blockbuster, A Tribe Called Judah, which grossed more than ₦1.4 billion and became Nollywood’s highest-grossing film at the time.

Akindele has established a reputation for releasing major productions during the festive season, often drawing large cinema audiences across the country.

The Four features an ensemble cast of prominent Nollywood actors, musicians and entertainment personalities, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, Wunmi Toriola and Waje.

Four former Big Brother Naija housemates are also part of the cast: Vee Adeyele, Shoday, Samuel Banks and Ayomide Iwasokun.

The inclusion of the former reality TV stars alongside established names from the Nigerian entertainment industry has added to anticipation surrounding the movie.

While details of the storyline remain under wraps, The Four is expected to blend comedy, family themes and social commentary, elements that have featured prominently in Akindele’s previous productions.

The movie will open in cinemas nationwide on December 11, 2026, with more details expected to emerge ahead of its release.
