Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, spoke after a meeting with Governor Hope Uzodimma on Tuesday in Abuja.
He explained that Nigeria’s economy is receiving positive recognition from global rating agencies because of the government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” policies.
Idris said Nigerians are starting to feel more optimistic as the economy steadily improves, and that while there is still work to do, the progress made so far is clear.
He added that by the end of President Bola Tinubu’s first term, the benefits of these reforms would be more obvious to Nigerians.
The minister described the meeting as part of ongoing talks between federal and state leaders to improve cooperation and governance.
He said that economic reforms, better management of government funds, and teamwork between federal and state governments are freeing up resources to support projects like building roads, improving food security, and addressing insecurity across the country.
Idris also stressed the importance of keeping Nigerians informed about government efforts to improve their lives, noting that while he does not directly build infrastructure, his role is to communicate the progress being made on their behalf.
