The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on Thursday continued his consultations with key stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of moves toward his anticipated 2027 governorship bid.
Hamzat held a strategic meeting with former Lagos State Governor and ex-Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, at the latter’s residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The meeting is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the deputy governor to engage influential political figures and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 elections. Fashola, a prominent figure in Lagos politics and governance, is widely regarded as a key stakeholder whose input could shape the political landscape in the state.
While details of their discussions were not made public, the visit underscores Hamzat’s commitment to broad-based consultations as he intensifies groundwork for his potential gubernatorial ambition.
Observers note that such engagements are critical in building alliances and strengthening political structures in the lead-up to the next election cycle in Lagos State.
