Content creator Adebayo Abidemi, publicly known as Isbae U has recounted how the controversy surrounding the 2022 sex-for-roles allegations and leaked videos left him fearing that his career was over.
Speaking about the period, Isbae U said the backlash was difficult, particularly as people who had previously praised him began criticising him.
He said he sought reassurance from fellow content creator Mr Macaroni, asking if the controversy marked the end of his career.
“2022, during the scandal of ‘sex for roles and leaked videos,’ was a tough time for me. I thought the end of my career had come,” Isbae U said.
“I asked Mr Macaroni, ‘Is this the end?’ People who were saying good things about me started saying bad things, but all I did was focus.”
Isbae U said he eventually stayed focused despite the backlash and continued with his career.
