Actress alleges senator drugged and controlled her under guise of love, denies family’s involvement in addiction

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly admitted to using hard drugs but turned the spotlight on her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, accusing him of deliberately fueling her addiction as part of a broader pattern of control, abuse, and psychological manipulation.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday, the 25-year-old actress dismissed Nwoko’s recent claims that her family introduced her to drugs, insisting the lawmaker was only attempting to deflect from what she called the “real issues” — her allegations of domestic violence, isolation, and forced confinement.

“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” Daniels wrote. “You keep shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs’ just to distract everyone from the truth — that you have been locking me up, cutting me off from my family, and trying to control every part of my life.”

Daniels alleged that Nwoko collaborated with a private doctor to inject her with medication meant for bipolar disorder patients, claiming he preferred her “sexier and more compliant” when under the influence.

According to her, Nwoko’s public call for her rehabilitation was insincere, as he only pushed the drug narrative after she decided to leave the marriage. She accused him of targeting her family to isolate her, including allegedly arranging the arrest of her brothers.

“You’ve always hated how close I am to my family,” she said. “Now you’re trying to make them look bad just so you can justify cutting them off completely. You want me alone, helpless, with no one left to turn to.”

The actress further alleged that Nwoko habitually seized her phones to control her communication, locked her in rooms for days, and used medical treatments as tools of punishment.

“You say you want me to go to rehab, but you’re the same Ned who wanted me high because you liked me that way. The moment I tried to leave, you started painting me as unstable,” she wrote.

Daniels also questioned the state of their union, stating that they were never legally married — a claim that directly contradicts long-held public assumptions about their relationship.

“If we were legally married, I would have filed for divorce a long time ago,” she declared.

The actress further alleged that Nwoko possesses a private sex tape of her, vowing not to back down from the ongoing public confrontation.

Their marital crisis first became public in October after a viral video showed Daniels in tears accusing Nwoko of domestic violence. The senator responded by alleging that she was battling drug and alcohol addiction.

The feud deepened on November 3, when Daniels accused Nwoko of orchestrating the arrest of her brothers — a move that sparked outrage among industry colleagues, including actress Mercy Johnson, who publicly called for their release and questioned the legality of the arrests.

As the controversy intensifies, fans and industry observers are expressing concern over the couple’s deteriorating relationship, which has evolved into one of Nollywood’s most dramatic and polarizing public battles in recent memory.
