The Lagos State Government has announced that the 68km Green Line rail project will be implemented in full, rather than in phases.
The project, which will run from Marina to Lekki Free Zone, aims to ease congestion and provide jobs for residents.

– Project Scope: The Green Line rail project is a key part of the Lagos Strategic Transport Master Plan, which envisions six Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines.
– Implementation: The project will be built in its entirety before it begins operation, deviating from the phased approach used for the Lagos Blue Line and Red Line metro projects.
– Budget Allocation: N146.14 billion has been allocated as counterpart funding for the project, managed by the Federal Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), under the N1.052 trillion development budget for 2025.
