The leader of the Fulani community in Lagos State, Alhaji Mohammad Abubarkar-Bambado II, has overturned the suspension of Arewa chairman Alhaji Sa’adu Yusuf Dandare-Gulma.

He announced the decision during a stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos on Thursday, declaring, “I hereby quash the rumoured suspension of our chairman.”

The gathering addressed tensions within the Arewa community and moved to restore stability in its leadership.

Key stakeholders rejected the suspension claim and urged members to close ranks, insisting, “No more rancour.”

Support for the chairman grew as Mai Kano Lawal described the suspension move as “dead on arrival.”

Arewa Apex Leader West 2, Alhaji Ibraheem Haruna, stressed that internal processes must guide decisions and warned that “some people took the law into their hands.”

He said the Board of Trustees retains exclusive authority over disciplinary actions and confirmed, “We are not aware of any letter suspending the chairman.”

Haruna added that “no other authority can do so,” reinforcing the board’s position on leadership matters.

Leaders directed those responsible for the suspension letter to withdraw it and reaffirm Dandare-Gulma’s position.

They scheduled another meeting for Saturday to consolidate the resolution.

Dandare-Gulma retained his role and dismissed the controversy, stating, “The suspension is null and void.”

He said stakeholders resolved to maintain the current structure and noted, “Everybody is now on board.”
