The Lagos state Police command has launched an investigation after a female officer alleged in a viral video that she has been pregnant for four years under unusual circumstances.

In the video circulating on social media, the officer—who identified herself as a single mother of three—said she had sought spiritual help regarding her condition. She accused a man she referred to as “Alhaji” of being responsible for her situation.

According to her, efforts to confront the man were unsuccessful, as he reportedly dismissed her claims and challenged her to involve the police. She further alleged that some officers had been cordial with him and accepted money from him.

Describing her situation as desperate, the officer appealed to Nigerians for assistance, urging them not to dismiss her plea because of her role in the police force.

Reacting, the police command confirmed it is aware of the video and has begun steps to address the matter.

“The Command has taken cognizance of this viral video currently circulating on social media and is already taking necessary steps to address the matter,” it stated on Friday.
