Lagos residents can now report potholes, refuse heaps, blocked drains, flooding and other community challenges directly to the state government through the Lagos State Citizens Gate platform.
The platform provides residents with a formal channel to lodge complaints, report public infrastructure and environmental problems, and access government services without relying solely on informal channels.
The state government urged residents to use the platform to alert relevant authorities to issues requiring prompt attention.
“Pothole on your street? Refuse pile that won’t go away? Blocked drain flooding your road?” the government asked in a message encouraging Lagosians to make use of the platform.
The government added that residents do not have to limit their complaints to neighbours or community groups but can report such issues directly through Citizens Gate.
According to the government, the Citizens Gate App allows residents to submit reports and access government services from wherever they are. The platform’s email channel is also available for reports and enquiries.
The government encouraged Lagosians to take a more active role in addressing challenges within their communities, stressing that governance works better when residents participate.
Residents can access the Citizens Gate platform at citizensgate.lagosstate.gov.ng/index.php.
The initiative is designed to strengthen communication between residents and government agencies while providing a formal mechanism for reporting issues requiring government intervention.
