The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has extended the deadline for filing individual annual income tax returns to April 14, 2026.

Originally set for March 31, the extension was announced by the agency’s executive chairman, Ayodele Subair, in a statement issued on Monday. According to LIRS, the additional time is intended to give taxpayers ample opportunity to complete and submit accurate returns without errors.

Subair urged individuals to treat tax compliance as a routine civic responsibility and prioritise timely filing. He also reiterated that all submissions must be made electronically via the LIRS eTax platform, as manual filing has been completely phased out.

The agency described the eTax portal as secure, user-friendly, and accessible круглосуточно, advising taxpayers to ensure their Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) are correctly entered during submission.

Taxpayers who require assistance have been encouraged to visit LIRS offices or use the agency’s official communication channels.
