Public outrage has followed the circulation of a viral video showing a woman allegedly attacking her 15-year-old daughter at a residence on Tashoro Street near Ipaja in Lagos State.
The footage, which surfaced early Wednesday, shows the woman pinning the teenager to the ground while holding a knife after reportedly beating her near the entrance of a compound. Some bystanders were seen stepping in to stop the situation, though the girl’s condition has not been confirmed.
The video was shared on X by a user identified as #Dir_Martinsz, who claimed the teenager was being abused by her mother and called on authorities to intervene.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians urging the Nigeria Police Force, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to take immediate action.
