A fire outbreak occurred at the Katangowa pipeline area in Abule Egba, Lagos, after foam materials stored at the site suddenly ignited, causing panic among residents and commuters.

Thick smoke and flames billowed from the area, disrupting traffic and daily activities as people rushed to safety. Before the arrival of emergency responders, residents and passersby made efforts to contain the blaze using available materials, slowing its spread.

Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service later arrived and successfully brought the fire under control, preventing it from extending to nearby buildings and facilities. No injuries or fatalities were recorded.

Emergency authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and urged residents to stay away from pipeline corridors to avoid similar incidents. They also emphasized the need for prompt reporting of potential hazards to enable swift emergency response.
