A phone technician, identified as Olatunbo Praise, has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing a female customer using her nude photos and videos he secretly obtained during a phone upgrade process.
According to reports, the victim had visited a phone shop in Ikeja to swap her iPhone. While inspecting the device, the suspect reportedly transferred her private content to his own phone without her knowledge using AirDrop.
The suspect later admitted to the act, stating that he copied the materials from the customer’s phone and used them to threaten her.
Recounting her ordeal, the victim explained that although she did not complete the transaction due to pricing issues, she was later contacted by the suspect, who sent her private files from an international number in an attempt to intimidate her.
Rather than panic, she devised a plan to expose him. Pretending to be interested in purchasing another phone, she lured him to a meeting location, where he was apprehended and subsequently handed over to the police after being confronted.
Authorities are currently handling the case as investigations continue.
