The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 33 suspects in connection with the November 20, 2025 attack on a Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, as part of a broader crackdown on criminal networks nationwide.
The suspects were among 50 individuals recently paraded by the police following coordinated operations targeting terrorism, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.
According to police authorities, the 33 suspects were apprehended across multiple locations, including Gbugbu, Ora-Ago, Babanla, Kaiama, Awi, Charagi, Patigi, and Okeode. Investigations link them to the deadly church attack and related criminal activities.
Items recovered during the operations include seven AK-47 rifles, seven magazines, an anti-aircraft launcher, an anti-aircraft rifle, 32 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, five walkie-talkie communication devices, and a camouflage hydration backpack. Police added that some of the weapons were abandoned by fleeing suspects during raids.
The Force described the arrests as a major breakthrough in dismantling a network allegedly involved in terrorism and violent attacks in the region.
Authorities also confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with efforts to track down additional suspects and recover more weapons.
The police reiterated their commitment to strengthening security across the country and ensuring that those involved in acts of violence are brought to justice.
