Police arrest four suspected robbers, recover 25 phones in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate operating around Iju-Ishaga and Oke-Aro areas of the state.

The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) at their hideout in Idi-Oro, Mushin, following intelligence gathering.

The suspects were identified as Damilare Oluwatobi, 28; Lekan Adenuga, 30; Haruna Sheriff, 22; and David Balogun, 24.

Police said a search of the hideout led to the recovery of 25 mobile phones, two laptops, gold jewellery comprising a necklace and earrings, and three cutlasses.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators with ongoing inquiries, while efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the alleged syndicate.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the VCRU operatives for their swift response and intelligence-led operation.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the state and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
