The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a woman accused of brutally assaulting her 15-year-old daughter in the Ipaja area of Lagos.
The incident reportedly occurred at No. 32 Tashoro Street, Opeki, along Ipaja Road, where the suspect allegedly attacked the teenager with a large knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds. Eyewitness accounts indicate that neighbours intervened just in time to prevent further harm, as the suspect was about to deliver another strike.
In a statement, the Police Command assured the public that the suspect is now in custody and a full investigation is underway. Authorities also confirmed that the victim and other affected children have been rescued and handed over to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care, protection, and welfare support.
The Command urged residents to remain calm, noting that the situation is under control, and pledged that the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the law upon the conclusion of investigations.
