Police shake-up: Tijani emerges Lagos CP, Jimoh is Zone 2 AIG

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a fresh redeployment of senior officers, appointing Fatai Tijani as the new Commissioner of Police in charge of Lagos State Command.

Tijani takes over following the promotion of Olorundare Moshood Jimoh to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG). Jimoh has now been posted to head Zone 2 Command, which oversees Lagos and Ogun states.
The new Lagos CP brings extensive experience, having previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Lagos, Area Commander of Area C Command, and Commissioner of Police, Eastern Port Command in Rivers State. He also served as Commander of MOPOL 17 in Akure, Ondo State.
His redeployment is expected to strengthen security operations, enhance community policing, and improve coordination among security agencies in Lagos State.
Meanwhile, the IGP has tasked senior officers to uphold professionalism, enforce discipline, and adopt proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property across their respective commands.
