Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested 44 suspected miscreants during a raid on criminal hideouts and blackspots along the Lagos Coastal Road, particularly around Marwa Bus Stop, Lekki.

The operation followed complaints from residents and road users about the alleged harassment of motorists and other commuters in the area.

The RRS said the exercise was carried out in line with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, to address security concerns and improve safety along the route.

In a post on its social media handle, @rrslagos767, on Thursday, the squad said the operation targeted areas where suspected miscreants were allegedly harassing road users.

The RRS Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, assured residents and commuters that operatives would continue to monitor the affected areas to deter criminal activities and enhance public safety.

The squad disclosed that the 44 suspects had been transferred to the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, popularly known as the Taskforce, for further action.

It also urged residents and road users to report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities to support efforts to maintain security across Lagos State.
