Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Maryam Lawal, a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), for her exceptional performance at the Nigerian Law School, where she emerged as the Best Graduating Female Student and the Second Overall Best Graduating Student at the Call to Bar ceremony held in Abuja last week.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu—who is also the Visitor to LASU—described Lawal’s success as a testament to the academic excellence of the state-owned institution.
Lawal, a native of Lagos and a graduate of LASU’s Faculty of Law (Common and Islamic Law), distinguished herself among 7,134 candidates called to the Bar on July 10, clinching eight prizes including the award for the Best Student in Corporate Law Practice.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said Lawal’s outstanding academic feat not only highlights her personal dedication and brilliance but also reinforces LASU’s growing reputation for producing top-performing graduates across various fields.
He further described Lawal as a “shining ambassador” of both LASU and Lagos State, praising her for projecting the image of the state positively on a national platform.
