Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has raised the alarm over an alleged attack by armed thugs inside a restaurant in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Sowore disclosed the incident in a post published on his official Facebook page on Friday, claiming that he and members of his entourage were attacked by thugs while inside the restaurant.

In a subsequent alarming claim, a message posted on his Facebook page alleged that the AAC presidential candidate had been kidnapped by armed thugs, adding that his whereabouts were unknown.

The post, which raised concerns over his safety, did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction or the identity of those behind the attack.

It was also unclear from the information provided whether security agencies had been formally notified or whether any arrests had been made.
